I’m slowly starting to get the kids’ wardrobes ready for Fall and Winter. It is still really hot outside, but I don’t want to be blindsided with cold weather and not have any warm clothes for them. I found some great turquoise quilted fabric in the remnant bin at Joann’s. I wanted to use it for myself, but it wasn’t quite tall enough. I used almost all of it for this cute little quilted vest for my daughter.
I made it really simple and used bias binding for all the edges. The bias binding is a really pretty floral cotton woven fabric. Then I used some turquoise snaps for the front. It came together really fast. I kind of love the collar even though I made it up, and I know I sewed the seam allowance wrong (up instead of down).
Sorry for the messy face, she’s a mess that I can’t keep up with. (She always finds the dirt or Henry’s snack!)
I love the colors of the vest and trim. I can’t wait to pair it with hoodies and leggings and skirts this Fall. I love that this color will pair great with pink. She has lots of pink clothes so anything non-pink is great.
